Sneak Peek of our Model Homes with Helen & Kathleen

DTX - Blog - Helen & Kathleen
As we started designing the interiors of the model homes at The Grove Frisco, we knew they had to be extraordinary. After all, this is our first chance to introduce ourselves to the community. We wanted these homes to convey our dedication to bold design, fabulous style, and high quality. They had to be elegant, but also comfortable and inviting. So of course, we called upon the talented team of Helen Rettberg and Kathleen Canez at Pacific Dimensions.

Helen and Kathleen collaborated with the Brookfield Residential team of Carley Rolon and Ellie Kozan to bring our vision to life. “In that initial presentation, we walked through our vision for the models, which are based around buyer profiles,” Helen says. “We try to speak to what our buyers are looking for in terms of room function and colors. We work with the team to refine the vision, and by the end of the process, we’ve picked out every single piece of furniture and every fabric for the model homes!”

As the project progressed, both the homes and the designs went through changes. “In the Linfield, the exterior elevation is modern European,” Kathleen says. “We originally had designed the home around a different color scheme. We wanted to go with more of a green color family, so we changed direction to a younger family and a lighter and brighter look. Then, in the Denison, the color palette is a little moodier — it’s more textural and more sophisticated for a more mature buyer.”

Helen and Kathleen also collaborated with LeeAnn Lindell at Southwestern Interiors to choose all of the fixtures, tiles, and finishes that would go in each of the model homes. “LeeAnn is amazing,” Helen says, “We tried to choose products that we knew would be available to buyers without being upgrades, and there were so many good options.”

These homes have so many beautiful features, it’s hard to know which ones Helen and Kathleen are most excited about. “In the Denison, the fireplace is a big feature,” Helen says. “The room has these amazing 20-foot ceilings, and the tile is a large-format textural wave pattern, which ties into the primary bedroom.”

“Both homes have big game rooms, and those were areas where we could have fun stuff for the kids,” Kathleen says. “Both have media rooms, so for the Linfield, we went lighter and brighter. For the Denison, the media room is downstairs, and it has black accent paint with lighter trim.”

Helen and Kathleen have loved collaborating with the Brookfield Residential team, and they appreciated the architectural spaces they had to work in. “One of the things Brookfield Residential has done so well with these homes is the amount of windows and natural light that they’ve included,” Kathleen says. “Even when we first did the frame walk, you could just see that row of windows across the top of the living room area — it was breathtaking!”
