One of the most exciting (and, some might say intimidating) parts of buying a new construction home is going to the Design Center to choose all of the finishes and fixtures. When Brookfield Residential home buyers in the DFW area are ready to choose their customizations, they’ll work with LeeAnn Lindell, Sr. Interior Design Consultant for Southwestern Interiors.
LeeAnn not only has her pulse on the latest product lines and design trends, but she also knows how to swiftly get to know each buyer’s unique personality and priorities. “My day in, day out is working with customers, and they don’t know me when they walk through the door,” LeeAnn says. “We have two three-hour appointments, so I have to quickly learn who they are and what their aesthetic is so we can choose everything, step by step, down to the grout between the tiles. It’s hard but fun.”
By partnering with Southwestern Interiors, Brookfield Residential is able to offer customers endless choices. “When buyers come here, they have almost full reign of everything they see here,” LeeAnn says. “That’s one of the benefits of an off-site showroom — you can have a lot more options to choose from. This higher-end customer has higher expectations – they want nicer finishes, white glove service, and an experienced designer who is the expert at that.”
LeeAnn was part of the design team that worked on Brookfield Residential’s model homes in The Grove Frisco, and she’s excited to see them come together. “I’ve been doing this for 18 years, and I can still say I’m really excited about these models,” LeeAnn says. “The 55-foot model has a two-tone kitchen with light cabinets up top and darker down below — we call it a tuxedo kitchen. And we ran the countertop up to the backsplash on one wall. It’s not something you see everyday.”
When it comes to interior design styles, LeeAnn knows how to convey warmth and comfort, and she stays up on the latest trends. “Lately, for flooring, we’re seeing lots of light woods. And for cabinets, for a while it was light finishes but now lots of light wood tones with color,” LeeAnn says. “Minimalist, earthy tones are still popular— greens and beiges. Rust is well received, too. Marble tile is still very popular, but it has gotten less heavily veined; people are liking the soft terrazzo look.”
Southwestern Interiors has served the DFW area for years, and they’re looking forward to this new partnership with Brookfield Residential. “We’re a family company that started as a flooring company, working for one builder,” LeeAnn says. “We have a huge emphasis on customer service — we want our builders to know their customers are in the best hands, from contract to construction. And we’re excited to work with Brookfield Residential — I’m so impressed at how organized they are. Having done this for so long, I’ve worked with a lot of builders, and I’m beyond impressed with everything I’ve seen. We’re pleased as punch to be partnering with them!”
Thanks, LeeAnn, we’re excited, too. We’d say you certainly make the process much less intimidating, and we’re grateful our customers have you by their side.
