While Brookfield Residential has been in business for more than 70 years and building homes in Texas for more than 10 years, we’re still pretty new to The Grove Friso. That’s why we’re thrilled that our first Brookfield Residential homebuyers are closing on homes and moving into the community. We sat down with one of our first families to hear about their experience, why they chose Brookfield Residential over other builders, and what they’re loving about their new home.
Brookfield Residential: How did you all first discover The Grove Frisco and Brookfield Residential? How did you start your home search process?
Buyer: Our realtor told us about Brookfield Residential! We have a one year old, and were looking for a bigger house where the kids could have fun and spread out. We also wanted good schools. We looked at resale homes and new homes, and we were surprised at how similar the pricing was, only about 3-5% different. So we thought, let’s go with a brand new build. That’s where we started around new communities.
Brookfield Residential: What did you think when you talked with the Brookfield Residential Team?
Buyer: I remember that day! We met Chris and sat down with him, and we were very upfront. We let him know we were looking for a new house, we talked about price and all that. I think Chris is excellent — he showed us the model homes and let us know about other plans. He explained everything through and was upfront about pricing, too. He let us know about the incentive offer and what they could do.
Brookfield Residential: What did your realtor think?
Buyer: Our realtor had actually worked with Chris before, and he told us that the homes were good quality. Our realtor had recommended multiple communities, but this was the only time he said, “This builder, they’re new to the area and trying to build a good reputation. They don’t cut corners and they’re honest.”
Brookfield Residential: What were you looking for in a floor plan?
Buyer: My wife is a fan of the open floor plan; she feels it makes your house look bigger and more modern. We loved the Woodbury floor plan — the kitchen is connected to the dining and living rooms, and from upstairs you can see the whole first floor. This one also has a bigger movie theater game room. It’s very good for a family.
Brookfield Residential: Did you choose a home that was already under construction or build from the ground up?
Buyer: We bought a quick move in home. There were one or two things we were not a fan of — one of the primary bedrooms had carpet, for example. We talked to Chris, and said, those are not really deal breakers but is there anything they can do? Chris and Oscar (the construction manager) were very easy to work with, and they made the adjustments. It was a very good experience, I can tell you.
Brookfield Residential: How are you settling into the community? What are you most excited about?
Buyer: One reason a master planned is good is that you have people taking care of your lawn for you! Here they mow the front lawn 20 or more times a year, and they fertilize it to make sure it’s healthy. That’s one thing about an older neighborhood is that people don’t always mow their lawns. In a master-planned area, all the houses look decent. And they’re building a new swimming pool here, with a splash pad for kids to play and a gym.
Brookfield Residential: How does your daughter like the new house?
Buyer: Her favorite place is the loft and gameroom! She has a play tent with pillows in different shapes to make a house and a slider. She has everything she wants. She can see everything when Mom is cooking downstairs. She yells at us from upstairs when we’re working in the kitchen.
Brookfield Residential: What would you say to someone considering Brookfield Residential and The Grove Frisco?
Buyer: I would say consider location. I think The Grove Frisco is in the perfect location. If you’re looking for a brand new build, consider the quality of the builder. Check out their ratings and talk to your realtor. With Brookfield Residential, my experience has been excellent. Everyone has been easy to work with and friendly. That made the difference!
