Meet Darrel Amen

DTX - Blog - Darrel
As Vice President of Land, Darrel Amen is thrilled to see Brookfield Residential joining the beautiful master-planned community at The Grove Frisco. “It’s a super exciting opportunity for Brookfield Residential,” Darrel says. “I think about how families are going to live in their homes, with kids swimming at the pools and playing on the playgrounds, mom and dad playing a few rounds on the pickleball courts. Grandparents and grandchildren are going to be walking on trails, taking a break at a seating area with trees — those kinds of things.”

With more than 20 years of experience in land development in the DFW area, Darrel knows that the key to a successful community is to make it as interesting as possible for the families and kids who are going to live there. “We think about all the memories that are made inside and outside your home in your community,” Darrel says. “And we consider all the things that make up each community, including places to meet up with neighbors, lots of pocket parks and open spaces. And we make each space different and special, with different themes.”

As the first Brookfield Residential model homes prepare to open in 2025, Darrel is happy to see the homebuilding team and land team come together. “The first years, it was just the land team. Now we’re starting to see sticks in the air.”

And getting to be around the product creation teams has been super exciting. “We spent a lot of time getting feedback and doing market studies,” Darrel says. “It’s been evident how much this team cares about our homeowners. We all agree that when we’re faced with an issue, we don’t have to think twice about doing the right thing for the homebuyer. It’s in our DNA.”

“Brookfield cares about the buyer,” Darrel says. “Our team wants the buyer to be more than satisfied with their purchase and the community itself — we’re not trying to buy a score on a survey, like some builders and developers do. We truly care.”
